Born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri by an entrepreneurial black woman. Jay GrYnD found his way into business and music.
Music Production will always be Jay GrYnD’s, first love. Starting in High School in Saint Louis, MO, he found out how to produce a record with software. From then until now he still has been working on his skill set and focused on creating his own sound and vibe.
Music Engineering is a part of his growth as a producer. Jay GrYnD learned at a young age the mix is everything when it comes to music. He believes that a mix can make and break a song, track, or beat.
The DJ’ing came naturally for GrYnD. After DJ’ing for Artist Showcase, Fashion Shows & Night Clubs, he found a love for DJ’ing. He feels that the DJ of an event can make or break a good time.

“I started DJ’ing in clubs because I needed a DJ for some Artist Showcases in Saint Louis, MO. Me being a determined entrepreneur & jack of all trade and master of some, I couldn’t let not having a DJ stop my events. I always had a love for all types of music and I didn’t like the way most DJ’s mixed records at artist shows & club events. I loaded up all the songs I could find to hard drive and the rest is history…”
Engineer
“I mixed my first few songs because I wanted to release records in high school with my artist. I didn’t know what mixing was about then but that wouldn’t stop me. Back then recording digitally was a new thing and no one on my team knew how to mix a track. After putting out a few CD’s in high school and I learned that the mix of a record was everything. I was hooked, and went deeper into the craft of audio engineering…“
Producer
“Thinking back to when I started making music, all I can remember is a song I reversed on my computer. The fact that I changed the sound of a song had me hooked. I listen to music all the time but didn’t know how much of a rush I would get out of creating a vibe with sound(s). To this day I still get the same feeling when I produce music and continue to GrYnD at the art…”
